October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In an effort to help generate awareneess, RentLizard.com is running a month-long campaign titled “Little Pink Houses”.
Every year, breast cancer claims the lives of over 41,000 American women. According to the National Cancer Institute, one out of every eight U.S. women born now will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their lives. Look around you. Chances are very high that you personally know someone that has been afflicted with breast cancer. It could be a neighbor, a co-worker, or even a mother or daughter of yours. Maybe even yourself.
RentLizard.com is honored to provide our website as a vehicle in educating you about breast cancer and its affects, and additionally provide you a way to help us donate monies toward fighting this deadly disease. Stop by our site throughout the month of October. Check out our blog. Become friends with us on Facebook. And while you’re at it, why not follow us on Twitter. We’ll be using all of these outlets to help educate you about breast cancer and some of the preventive measures you can take. We’ll also share stories from those that have personally been affected by breast cancer. Two of those women are represented in our Little Pink Houses campaign logo and will be highlighted on this blog in October.
We believe we’ve chosen an outstanding breast cancer awareness fund to support. It’s the Stefanie Spielman Breast Cancer Awareness Fund. Monies going into this fund, are channeled into breast cancer research at Ohio State University’s Comprehensive Cancer Center – The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, named one of America’s top hospitals (2009-2010) by U.S. News. As one of the co-founders of our company and its associated site, I want to express my sincere thanks for any support you can provide to the fund we’ve chosen.
